Jennifer's from the Castle Hill section of the Bronx and her father David, was a computer technician. Both Jennifer's parents were born in Puerto Rico but did not meet until after both of them went to America. Her mother's parents were originally from Europe but later settled in Puerto Rico and she freely says that it was her parents' work ethic that made a difference in her life. Jennifer took singing and dancing lessons from the age of five and attended twelve years of Catholic school including an all girl high school. She played softball and tennis in high school and was also a gymnast and following high school she briefly worked in a law office. During that time however she continued dance classes at night and at eighteen she left home because her mother was frightened by her decision to pursue a show business career.
